Rare Antiquarian Hans Andersen Book, circa 1910. in East End, Hampshire for sale

Antiquarian Hans Andersen compendium, circa 105 years old. Absolutely beautiful condition for its age, it features some of the first colour prints in books (as well as some black and white plates), and has an unbelievably sturdy spine. The spine does have some rubbing around the corners and edges, but is very clean (pictures 1 and 2). Well bound hardback with no loose pages, creasing or splits. Carries over 60 of the most popular Hans Andersen stories, including "The Little Mermaid" and "The Ugly Duckling" (pictures 3 and 4 show full contents). Genuine antiquarian book, with inscription inside dating from Christmas eve 1915. This was a father's gift to his daughter, and it has been well taken care of since. Obvious signs of ageing include browning and discolouration spots throughout (example on picture 6) - but this is a great example of well preserved piece of history. Printed by Cassell & Company, Ltd., London, circa 1910. Hardcover. Illustrated by Mabel Lucie Attwell. Has decorated covers with colour plate (pasted on centre) and similarly decorated spine. 540 pages approx. Approx 8-9" tall.
